The first week of the placement season at the Indian School of Business (ISB) for the one-year full-time PGP Class of 2019 saw an average salary offer of around Rs 25.06 lakh isb average package.

This was a nearly Rs 3 lakh increase over the previous year’s figure of Rs 22.14 lakh for the Class of 2018.

ISB said there was a 29% increase in the recruiters during the current placement season. The companies, domestic and international, came up with a total of 1,194 offers. While The class has a total of 886 students, with 35% (306) females.

Major recruiters included Deloitte, Accenture and Amazon who made the maximum offers. Apple, E&Y, GrabTaxi, Li and Fung offered roles in international locations in the Middle East, Hong Kong, North Africa and Singapore.

The recruiters also included Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Flipkart, Google, HDFC Bank, LEK Consulting, McKinsey, Microsoft, Oyo Rooms, Reliance Industries, Rivigo, Samsung and Uber.

The final placement report for the class of 2019 will be released in March 2019, the school said in a press release.

ISB Dean Rajendra Srivastava said, “When it comes to sourcing world-class talent in a growth market, ISB is the preferred partner for many companies. In some cases, ISB is the only campus where some of these companies visit for their India placements.”

“The unprecedented number of offers, this early in the process, is a vote of confidence on the quality of ISB students,” he added.

The ISB placement process takes about four months. Through a series of on-campus presentations and hundreds of job postings, students get the opportunity to learn about recruiting companies with national and global presence. Placements commence with a series of pre-placement talks (PPT) by recruiters to the student body.

The talks pertain to the organisations’ philosophies and their expectations. Students respond by submitting ‘expressions of interest (EOI)’ to them. Recruiters select suitable candidates, draw up a shortlist and inform the Career Advancement Services (CAS) team, who get in touch with the students.

On-campus interviews form the next stage and then companies make offers. Recruiters may also conduct off-campus interviews with students. The bulk of the placement process occurs within a ten-day window. However, the final interviews and placements continue for several months.

ISB is ranked third among the top 100 global B-Schools, for a 164% increase in salary of its alumni (177% increase for women), three years after completion of PGP, in the Financial Times Global MBA rankings 2018.

The school, with campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, boasts of a vibrant pool of research-oriented resident faculty, strong academic associations with leading global B-schools.
